Daily Audio Bible App App Reviews

Take the challenge!

If youve always wanted to go through the Bible in a year, this is the app to accomplish it! Brian does a beautiful job reading the Bible as well as explaining it.

Best reading of Bible Ive heard

There are so many reasons why this is the best way to listen to the Bible. Brian provides great commentary so you can understand what you just heard. The way he reads the Bible is amazing! He can take what, when I read it to myself, is pretty dry and add so much feeling and meaning that it is almost a different passage. Where before there was nothing that caught my eye, now the passage has become a tool for deep reflection. My only problem is with logistics of the app. I wish you could save where you are, for those of us that are behind. And just a heads up, all the years readings are erased at the end of the year, so catch up before then. For a while, the app wasnt working. Couldnt download or stream. Tried the podcast version for a while. Because of these problems, I went out looking for something easier to use. I bought audio bibles. I subscribed to audio reading plans, etc. I also bought his Passages book and thought Ill read it to myself. There is nothing which even comes close. Even when I try to read it to myself. If I read a passage on my own, and then listen to him read the same passage, I get so much more when he reads it. Again, because of how he reads. For instance, he knows the context to the biblical books, he has been many times to the promised land. So he understands more when he reads the Bible and this understanding impacts how he reads so that you can understand more too. Then, in addition to the way he reads what he says before and after really help you extract even more meaning. So whatever technical difficulties there may be, they are worth overcoming because what Brian is doing is so valuable. Just to say, I have started adding a catholic audio reading as well because I like to hear the Gospel each day and the daily catholic mass reading always includes a Gospel reading. The Catholic mass reading also comes with a daily video commentary on the reading to again deepen the experience. Oh, finally Brians DAB reading itself takes only 15 minutes. The remainder is prayer requests.

I love this app and I recommend it!

I listen almost daily to this reading of Gods Word. Im so grateful its available! Its the last thing I do before falling asleep at night, which allows me to sleep without anxious thoughts. I drift off with Truth in my ear.

Daily Audio Bible

Brians voice is amazing, Jesus is clearly using him to reach the world through his app. His instruction & encouraging words are absolutely phenomenal!

Music or scripture

DAB was a site I visited daily until could not tolerate the loud and competing background music. I say competing because the piano melodies keep pulling my concentration to it and then I have forgotten my meditation pointing was at. The music even diminishes Brians excellent narration making it seem course. I hope he sees the error of this, until then Im looking for another daily scripture site.

Garbage App

If you pause and come back to the app: - it crashes - doesnt remember where you left off And this app NEVER recalls the day you were listening too so of you are behind, well, enjoy scrolling!!!! And those arrow keys are so useless. And why is there now loop back 10 seconds feature? Its 2015 for crying out loud. I hate this app. Love the daily audio by Brian but this app is garbage. Needs new developer badly.

Ummmm

I love the program and Brian is great. The only reason Im giving this app 4 instead of 5 stars is because, with this latest update, I cant even open the app. Ive had to go back to downloading the podcast through the iTunes podcast app.

I love it!

Its a great app! It does exactly what it says it does. Hearing the word or God before bedtime is always good.

Wonderful Audio Bible Podcast!

I have been listening to DAB for five years now. I am just now writing a review because I cant believe how few reviews have been posted since there are obviously thousands of delighted listeners. Brian Hardin has a pleasant peaceful voice and his work is a gift from God. He faithfully reads the Word of God in a variety of translations - one each week which provides a nice mix & a nice exposure to different translations. He reads a bit from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs daily so that he reads through the entire Bible in a year. He also expounds on the Bible in a delightful way that provides greater comprehension, application, and appreciation of Gods Word. Additionally, there is a wonderful community of prayer at the end of the podcast which allows a believer to be a part of a worldwide community. All in all, DAB is terrific and is an established part of my life. I still study the Bible on my own, but I faithfully listen every day to the DAB to anchor my day.

Most important app on my iPad

I recommend this app to anyone looking for meaning rather than fun. It is worth your time and you will find more joy and peace in your life! It will help you be grounded and stable and a better person. Im on my 10th year listening to the podcast and I find the iPad app to be a great additional tool for the study of Gods word.

I listen in my way to work.

I love this app. Brians voice is easy to listen to, his descriptions of books are helpful, and the commentary at the end is insightful.

Not a recording.

Well, it is, but recorded everyday for the last ten years. Everyday the reader records a reading from the Old Testament, one from the New Testament, one from Psalms, one from Proverbs. The reader often has brilliant insight into the readings and very often I feel like God is talking to me because the message can be that personal. Try it each day for 20-25 minutes. It will change your life.

Great service - inconsistent app

Lets be clear about one thing right from the start: Brian Harding and his Daily Audio Bible team are doing an amazing thing - and you would do well to take full advantage of it. If only this app were as consistent as Brians Bible readings. It definitely isnt. Inconsistent performance has plagued this app since I first started using it on Jan 1 2015. For over 2 months, the app crashed if you switched to another app during playback. There were days the app wouldnt launch at all. There were others, like today, when the app launches fine but the daily reading wont play. If these are actually not app issues, but rather server issues on the Daily Audio Bible side, that information needs to be provided to the user (along with some sort of "Send Report" feature to alert the DAB team of the problem). The app could also use 10-second rewind and fast forward buttons to make listening to the podcast easier. While I sincerely hope the Subsplash team is listening to customer feedback and aggressively tackling these issues and enhancements, the wheels of progress appear to grind very slowly.

Wonderful

All ways wanted to read the Bible? Now going thru the Bible can be wonderfully done in a year. Feel alone? NO more the community at DAB is family.

Its like having a personal coach lead you.

The best of the audio listening plans.
